Conclusions

After ending this blog we have thought about some questions:

Firstly we think that this blog allows people to practice English with lots of different exercises. This practicing is done by the making of many exercises about grammar, games, songs, readings, listening…

Children will learn English if they do all the exercises. Moreover, there are some pictures with different colours which may help them to improve their English language level.

We think that our exercises are useful for pupils, older students and also for teachers.

We have enjoyed a lot doing this blog.

Finally, we hope you do too!

Have fun!

If you prefer to use the verb tense pages as a reference only and do not want to complete the tutorial it’s possible.

Conditionals:

There are two kinds of conditional sentences: real and unreal. Real Conditional describes real-life situations. Unreal Conditional describes unreal, imaginary situations. Although the various conditional forms might seem quite abstract at first, they are actually some of the most useful structures in English and are commonly included in daily conversations. If you prefer to use the conditional pages as a reference only and do not want to complete the tutorial it’s possible.
The tutorial should be completed as follows:
1. Read this introduction page.
2. Prepare for the exercises by reading: Types of Verbs, Active vs. Passive, and the verb tense descriptions that you want to practice.
3. Complete the exercises below. After each exercise, we have listed the tenses covered. Just click on the name of a tense to learn more about its use.
Modals:
Modals are special verbs which behave very irregularly in English. Englishpage.com has created one of the most in-depth modal tutorials in print or online. If you want to use the Modal Verb Tutorial as a reference only and do not want to complete the tutorial it’s possible.
The tutorial should be completed as follows:

HALO
por Beyonce Knowles

¿Recuerdas esas paredes que construí?
Bueno, cariño, se están derrumbando.
Y ni siquiera presentaron batalla.
Ni siquiera hicieron ruido.
Encontré una forma de dejarte entrar.
Pero realmente nunca tuve dudas.
Parado en la luz de tu halo,
Ahora tengo a mi ángel.
[Estribillo:]
Es como si me hubieran despertado.
Cada regla que tenía, tú la quiebras.
Es el riesgo que asumo.
Nunca voy a dejarte afuera!
Dondequiera que mire ahora,
Estoy rodeada de tu abrazo.
Cariño, puedo ver tu halo.
Sabes que eres lo que me salva.
Eres todo lo que necesito y más.
Está escrito en todo tu rostro.
Cariño, puedo sentir tu halo.
Ruego que no desaparezca.
Puedo sentir tu halo.
Puedo sentir tu halo.
Puedo sentir tu halo.
Puedo sentir tu halo.
Halo, oh, oh.

Y hacerlo bueno.
Te echo de menos.

Nunca me he sentido así antes.
Todo lo que hago
Me recuerda a ti.
Y la ropa que dejaste,
Permanece en el piso,
Y huelen igual que ti.
Amo las cosas que haces.

Cuando te vas caminando,
Cuento los pasos que haces.
¿Ves cuánto te necesito ahora mismo?

[Estribillo]

Fuimos hechos el uno para el otro.
Aquí afuera para siempre,
Sé que lo fuimos.
Sí, sí.

Todo lo que siempre quise fue que supieras,
Que en todo lo que hago doy mi corazón y alma.
Apenas puedo respirar,
Necesito sentirte aquí conmigo, sí.
[Estribillo]

MY HEART WILL GO ON
(Love Theme from Titanic)
by Celine Dion

And spaces between us.
I see you, I feel you.
Far, across the distance
Every night, in my dreams,
You have come to show you go on
That is how I know you go on.

Cada noche, en mis sueños,
Te veo, te siento.
De esa manera sé que sigues.
Lejos, más allá de la distancia
Y espacio entre nosotros,
Has venido para mostrar que sigues.

And you're here in my heart.
Near, far, wherever you are,
And my heart will go on and on.
Once more, you opened the door.
I believe that the heart does go on.

Cerca, lejos, dondequiera que estés,
Creo que tu corazón aún sigue.
Una vez más, abriste la puerta
Y estás aquí, en mi corazón.
Y mi corazón seguirá y seguirá.

One true time to hold on to.
Love was when I loved you,
Love can touch us one time,
In my life, we'll always go on.
And never let go till we're gone.
And last for a lifetime.

El amor puede tocarnos una vez,
Y durar toda una vida.
Y nunca cesar hasta que ya no estemos.
El amor era cuando te amaba,
Una verdadera oportunidad para guardar.
En mi vida, siempre seguiremos.

And my heart will go on and on.
Near, far, wherever you are,
Once more, you opened the door.
I believe that the heart does go on.
And you're here in my heart.

Cerca, lejos, dondequiera que estés,
Creo que tu corazón aún sigue.
Una vez más, abriste la puerta
Y estás aquí, en mi corazón.
Y mi corazón seguirá y seguirá.

We'll stay, forever this way.
And my heart will go on and on.
You're here, there's nothing I fear.
You are safe in my heart.
And I know that my heart will go on.

Estás aquí, no hay nada que temer.
Y sé que mi corazón seguirá.
Permaneceremos así para siempre.
Estás seguro en mi corazón.
Y mi corazón seguirá y seguirá.

Y sé que mi corazón seguirá.
Permaneceremos así para siempre.
Estás seguro en mi corazón.
Y mi corazón seguirá y seguirá.

MY HEART WILL GO ON
(Love Theme from Titanic)
by Celine Dion

Every night, in my dreams,
I see you, I feel you.
That is how I know you go on.
Far, across the distance
And spaces between us,
You have come to show you go on.

Near, far, wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you opened the door.
And you're here in my heart.
And my heart will go on and on.

Love can touch us one time,
And last for a lifetime.
And never let go till we're gone.
Love was when I loved you,
One true time to hold on to.
In my life, we'll always go on.

Near, far, wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you opened the door.
And you're here in my heart.
And my heart will go on and on.

You're here, there's nothing I fear.
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay, forever this way.
You are safe in my heart.
And my heart will go on and on.

THE DUCK SONG

A duck walked up to a lemonade stand and he said to the man running the stand. Hey, got any grapes?

The man said no we just sell lemonade. It’s cold and its fresh and it’s all home made.
Can I sell you glass? The duck said “I’ll pass”. Then he waddled away. Till the very next day.

When the duck walked up to the lemonade stand and he said to the man that was running the stand. Hey. You got any grapes?
The man said no, like I said yesterday, we just sell lemonade okay? Why not give it a try? The duck said Goodbye.

Then he waddled away. He waddled away. He waddled away. Till the very next day.
When the duck walked up to the lemonade stand and he said to the man that was running the stand. Hey. You got any grapes?
The man said look, this is getting old. Lemonade’s all we’ve ever sold. Why not give it a go? The duck said “No.”

Then he waddled away. He waddled away. He waddled away. Till the very next day.

When the duck walked up to the lemonade stand And he said to the man that was running the stand. Hey. You got any grapes?
The man said THAT’S IT!! If you don’t stay away, duck, I’ll glue you to a tree and leave you there all day, stuck. So don’t get to close! The duck said Adios.

Then he waddled away. He waddled away. He waddled away. Till the very next day.

When the duck walked up to the lemonade stand And he said to the man that was running the stand. Hey. You got any glue?
What?

You got any glue? No, why would I– Oh!
Then one more question for you: Got any grapes?

And the man just stopped. Then he started to smile. Then he started to laugh. He laughed for a while. Then he said, “Come on duck, let’s walk to the store. I’ll buy you some grapes so you won’t have to ask anymore.”

So they walked to the store and the man bought some grapes. He offered one to the duck and the duck said “No thanks”.
“But you know what sounds good? It would make my day.

Do you think this store, do you think this store, do you think this store… has any… lemonade?”

Then he waddled away. He waddled away. He waddled away.

Bob’s my favorite snail
And I know he really loves me
He’s the classiest snail
You would ever hope to know
And I wish he didn’t smell
But I know he can’t help it
He’s lived in the same shell
Since I got him long ago
And if I ever need him
All I have to do is call him
And I know he’ll come running
Well I guess he’ll come crawling

So I guess I better call him
About a week before I need him
So that I’ll see him
Right about on time
And it’s not his fault
He’s a little bit slow
He can’t help it if he’s got
Cute little itty bitty teeny tiny slippery slimy pokier than miney toes

And sometimes when I’m sleeping
I like to cuddle with him
Then I put him on my nose
We look into each other’s eyes
And sometimes in the morning
He’s on my forehead snoring
I know he didn’t sleep well
He musta walked all night

And if I ever need him
All I have to do is call him
And I know he’ll come running
Well I guess he’ll come crawling

Pirate's song
Have you ever seen a pirate? Maybe you have known one of them. Pirates are people who live in a boat and who travel a lot over the sea. They often catch a treasure. They steal money, they kidnap princesses and they also kill!
With this song we’re going to know something more about them! Are you ready?

We’re pirates sailing on our ship
Will you come along?
We’re pirates sailing on our ship
We’re so brave and strong
We have a map of where our treasure is
It’s hidden well
But who will find this bottle
We can never ever tell
Yo ho ho! Walk that plank
Yo ho ho! Walk that plank
Hoist the Jolly Roger, let’s set sail
Hoist the Jolly Roger, let’s set sail
The island is so dangerous with swamps and crocodiles
Mines and caves and snakes as well
You have to walk for miles
We have a map of where our treasure is
It’s hidden well
But who will find this bottle
We can never ever tell
Yo ho ho! Walk that plank
Yo ho ho! Walk that plank
Hoist the Jolly Roger, let’s set sail
Hoist the Jolly Roger, let’s set sail

GAMES

All over the world and along the history games have been originated to be played about a board. They are usually games that require strategy, concentration, anticipation and patience. There are also games that contribute with English learning. A pair of them is:

  • Scrabble: is a game that consists on forming words with some cards on a counter. The words can be written in a horizontal or vertical way, and depending on their letters, they will have more punctuation or less. The game is carried out among 2 or 4 players about a board. Each player receives a number of cards or letters. The letters feel numbered with their value, and each player obtains a different note for each formed word. In total there are 100 cards. The board has also places where you can multiply the number of granted points: the red are from "triple word", the roses mean "double word", the blue ones "triple letter"...

  • Game of the dictionary: it’s a game that requires strategy and a lot of imagination. It allows players to know more vocabulary and to create an own dictionary. Players are sitting in a chair and one person opens a vocabulary dictionary without looking at the page. He finds a complicated word and he says it. Players have to invent a definition for it and less de paper in a cage. The person who has found the word has to write the real definition in a paper too. After he reads all the definitions out loud and players have to choose the correct!
